VIII INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND ARTS AND FOLK ARTS COMPETITIVE FESTIVAL

“RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE”

 VII  International competitive festival  “The Russian Fairy Tale” in Saint Petersburg was attended by artists from: Latvia (Riga), Moscow and its region (Staraya Kupavna, Mendeleevo), Yakutia (Kharbalakh), Udmurtia (Yar), Mordovia (Saransk), Karelia (Petrozavodsk), Orenburg region (Novotroitsk), Samara region (Bolshaya Chernigovka), Sverdlovsk region (Asbest), Murmansk region (Apatiti),  Polyarny, Novgorod region (Pestovo), Chudovo, Kaliningrad region, Pravdinsk, Voronezh region (Liski), Novosibirsk region (Barabinsk), Vladimir region (Sobinka), Kirovsk region (Tuzha), Kaliningrad, Kostroma, Perm, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Nizhniy Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Volgograd, Saint Petersburg and its region.

On the stager of “Saint Petersburg” concert hall more than two hundred contestants demonstrated their mastery and talents in the following nominations:   Instrumental music (soloists, duo, ensembles (domra, balalaika, bayan, accordion, guitar, piano); vocal art (folk, pop); dance art, theatre art, theatre of fashion, art reading, arts and crafts.

Jury featured honored professionals in their relative areas: 

Fonin Vladimir Alexeevich – the honored artist of Russian Federation, Union of Concert workers’ member, Peter's Academy of Science and Art member, The Andreyev State Russian Orchestra soloist, head of the  “Serebryanye Struny” quintet  featuring the leading soloists of the Andreev orchestra.

Fonina Marina Petrovna – the honored artist of Russian Federation, Union of Concert workers’ member, Peter's Academy of Science and Art’s member, The Andreyev State Russian Orchestra soloist , member of the leading Andreev orchestra soloists quintet “Serebryanye Struny” , domra teacher at Mussorgsky Music College.

Timohin Alexander Ivanovich – choreographer, ballet master, stage dance producer.

Baranova Ekaterina Mikhailovna (Russia, Saint Petersburg) is a pianist, head of the chamber concertmaster department at Mussorgsky Music College.

Panadmitrieva Larisa Vladimirovna (Saint Petersburg, Russia) – senior lecturer of the Vocal and Musical school at Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy. 

Fedonuk Valentina Vasilyevna – Derzhavin Academy of Russian Literature And Fine Arts professor, folk vocal teacher at Art Lyceum" Saint-Petersburg ".

Safarova Yana Rifovna   – member of the Painters Union of Russia since 1992, member of the Art Critics Association since 2007. Winner of the International and Russian national fashion contests. Yana participated in Russian and International art exhibitions and design biennales. Since 2001 she has been a docent in “Costume design” department at the Institute of Design, Applied Art and Humanitarian Education.  

Gorbunova Olga Alexandrovna (Russia, Saint Petersburg) – the honored worker in the field of Arts in Russian Federation, head of the choreography department at Saint Petersburg regional Culture Committee.

In addition to drawing conclusions, analyzing and giving recommendations, members of the jury held a number of master-classes. Timohin Alexander Ivanovich together with the participants prepared a wonderful Russian stylized dance which was presented to the audience on the Gala concert opening.  Panadmitrieva Larisa Vladimirovna held a pop vocal and note reading master-class.

 What is more, Natalia Zaikova (choreographer, stage dance producer and flamenco teacher) led a flamenco master class as part of the festival programme. It was aimed at developing dance technique among students with different levels of relevant skills. Natalia let every participant feel the essence of flamenco and get a little bit closer to this wonderful dance!

Organizing team did everything possible to ensure guests were merry and at ease during the festival. DVL Studio (professional photo and design studio) was working in the hall so everyone could obtain a video or pictures of the performances or get a picture of themselves.  

 Awards:

 Special prize for the best costume was awarded to Kozireva Elena (Sobinka, Vladimir region).

Age category: 9 years old

Polina received a free trip to the International competitive festival “The Sounds and the Colors of the Capital” in April 2014.

Markelova Alina

City: Saint Petersburg

Nomination: Instrumental music

Alina was awarded a free trip to the International competitive festival “Magic Star of Prague” in November 2014.

Lel’” folk dance ensemble  

Nomination:  Folk dance

Age category: 16-18 years old

Ensemble received a 50% enrollment discount on the competitive festival “Land of Magnolia” in Sochi (May 2014).

Organizing team, contestants, their mentors and parents were all happy with “The Russian Fairy Tale” festival!
